After the most basic level of human behavior, the Constitution and laws require us to have a broad and comprehensive definition of what constitutes “a state” and to make reasonable distinctions between self-sufficient and self-exempt, in order to protect our rights and interests.
The Constitution, and many other legal codes, use the terms “people,” “subjects,” “citizens,” and “persons” interchangeably. This is not a fault of the Constitution, but the way in which it was written. It’s this interchangeability that makes the law so complicated to get your head around.
The problems with this definition are that it’s broad enough to encompass a wide variety of groups, and it covers all the legal arguments that are used to defend government. The problem with this is that no one really knows what a person is. It’s not a person any more than you are a person or a person is a person. The only thing that counts is how much power the government has delegated to the people.
When we talk about the Constitution we are talking about the document that governs the US. In other words it is the ultimate authority for what the government is. You can’t really get around that.
The US is a free society (and in this context we’re talking about liberty). We’re talking about a non-profit society. We’re talking about a democracy. The US is a republic. We’re talking about freedom. The constitution is a document.
That’s a little bit of a stretch, but it is a really good one.
The Constitution is a document. It is the document that you can actually read and understand. It is a document that you can write with the right hand, and the right hand cannot be read by the left hand.

If we’re going to discuss any of this, it’s probably best to start with the most obvious. But I’m going to do my best to explain the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, as best I can.
