I’m a writer, and I write about self-awareness. I’m here to help you make some sense of the world around you by helping you figure out what you know and how you know it. I’m a writer, but I’m also a guy who’s been on a quest to learn more about self-awareness. (I’m also a big advocate for the science of neuroplasticity.
I’m a guy who’s been around…
I also write a lot about self-awareness. I just do it better than anyone. I write a lot about how our brains change when we learn new things, and how it’s important to be aware of the things that we’ve learned over time. I write about learning new things in general, as well as writing about how our brains are changed by these experiences.
I also do some other stuff too. I write about the science of self-awareness, neuroplasticity, and the psychology of learning new things.
Steven Smelser is a neuroscientist, author, and educator who’s been in the field for 18 years. He and I have worked together on a number of projects. In this episode of steven’s show, he talks about how our brains are constantly adapting, and how we can learn new things by doing new things.
The first time we learn a concept we use a different part of our brains to remember it. We’re called “paralanguage” because if we say to ourselves, “This is called ‘p’” we remember that we’re dealing with a noun while we’re saying “this is called ‘h’.
We can talk about language like we talk about music, art, and fashion, but the way we actually learn new things is with repetition. A new concept or skill seems to grow over time when we do things that are new.
When we learn something new, we use our paralanguage memory to remember it. When we repeat something, we use our long-term memory to remember it.
We can do this with any form of communication that requires a lot of repetition (like writing). If you want to learn to speak another language (most languages), you first need to memorize your own language. After that, you can start learning the language of the other. You can also learn languages by reading books (or watching movies).
There are two kinds of languages that I’m familiar with: one is the first language a child learns to start with and the most language they can speak. You’ll find the second most common language in adult life is the one they use for everything else. The second is the second language to learn. The first is the most effective way to learn a language.
