I’m not a fan of the word “talib”, but I’m not sure it’s quite the word that I’d want to use to describe this salad. I’m thinking something like “bitter,” “moldy,” or “carnivorous.
It is not just a word, it’s a concept that can be defined as being an ingredient that has to be made and used in many different ways.
taliab is a salad that is made by mixing various raw veggies and spices into a paste and then letting it sit as it does for a period of time, letting it be aged in the refrigerator and then allowing it to be used at the very end of the cooking process. It is not just a dish, it is a way of using a variety of ingredients to create a dish that is not very “traditional” in the sense that it is made of a single ingredient.
