I remember when I was a little girl and my mother would bring me home a tinsukia (tinsukia fish) cake from Italy. I would get excited and want one, but I never got one.
I don’t know if it was a surprise or if it was just coincidence.

From the traditional Japanese food to the taste and texture of the raw fish itself, it’s a very unique experience. And it’s not an easy dessert to make, it’s a bit of a pain. My friend told me a funny story of how she tried to make one and it was the worst.

tinsukia is a fish that has a tendency to stick to the back of your throat, and the fish cake is the best part of it. It is actually quite delicious and has a nice crispy texture. There’s an optional drink that you can include with the fish, but I haven’t tried it yet.
